Tape measure: A flexible, non-stretching tape measure is essential for accurate measurements.
Standard measurements:
- Neck circumference: Measure around the base of the neck, keeping the tape measure snug but not constricting.
- Chest: Measure around the fullest part of the chest, just under the armpits. Keep the tape measure level and parallel to the floor.
- Sleeve length: Measure from the shoulder seam down the arm to the wrist bone. Keep your arm slightly bent at a 90-degree angle.
- Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of the waist, typically above the hips.
- Hips: Measure around the fullest part of the hips, usually about 8-10 inches below the waist.
- Inseam: Measure from the crotch seam down the inside leg to the ankle bone.
